The TGA is seeking talented and enthusiastic Lawyers (APS4-APS6) and Senior Lawyers (EL1) for various roles within our Advisings team. Team members have carriage of advising and resolving complex and sensitive legal and related issues relevant to all aspects of the Department of Health and Aged Care's Health Products Regulation Group, including the TGA, Office of Drug Control, Office of the Gene Technology Regulator, and Australian Industrial Chemicals Introduction Scheme. Successful candidates will join a supportive, hardworking, and collaborative team of exceptional lawyers working on a range of interesting and challenging public health matters.
The key duties of the position include:Key responsibilities will depend on experience. Applicants are invited to tailor their applications to their specific team(s) of interest. Key responsibilities include advising on and resolving complex and sensitive legal and related issues relevant to all aspects of the Department of Health and Aged Care's Health Products Regulation Group, including the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), Office of Drug Control (ODC), Office of the Gene Technology Regulator (OGTR), and Australian Industrial Chemicals Introduction Scheme (AICIS).
Eligibility RequirementsTo be eligible for employment with the Department of Health and Aged Care, applicants must be an Australian citizen at the time an offer of employment is made. An applicant's suitability for employment will also be assessed through a variety of pre-employment check processes, such as:
Satisfactory completion of a criminal history check, and where relevant, a Working with Children and Vulnerable People Check,Completion of a medical declaration and pre-employment medical (where required),Providing evidence of qualifications (where required), andObtaining and maintaining a security clearance at the required level.For this role, applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance or hold a current security clearance at an appropriate level.
