Position Overview Fixed Term, part time appointment (0.2 FTE, 7 hours per week, 2-years) Level B: $114,572 - $132,315 (pro-rata) + 17% Superannuation OR Level C: $139,167 - $156,954 (pro-rata) + 17% Superannuation Clinical Loading (if eligible) Location: Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) Wollongong and Shellharbour Hospital The Graduate School of Medicine's (GSM) purpose is to improve health and wellbeing through best practice medical education and meaningful research. The Doctor of Medicine (MD) program is delivered primarily on three campuses located in Wollongong, Shoalhaven, and in the Southern Highlands, as well as in numerous rural sites throughout NSW. We are seeking a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Psychiatry to teach and assess medical students in ISLHD (Wollongong and Shellharbour) Hospital facilities. All medical students must complete clinical education and placement in psychiatry at Wollongong or Shellharbour hospitals to fulfill MD curriculum requirements. The role involves providing expert clinical supervision, teaching, assessment, and facilitation in accordance with the Student Placement Agreement within ISLHD, along with UOW's External (AMC) Accreditation requirements. To be successful, you will hold a current or anticipated appointment as an Advanced Trainee/consultant psychiatrist with Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (Northern Illawarra Hospitals Group). You must demonstrate the ability to deliver high-quality teaching at both introductory and intermediate levels, along with a willingness to develop and implement teaching programs and engage academic staff to support teaching at Northern Illawarra Hospital Group sites or in community-based settings. Additionally, you should possess a strong understanding of equal opportunity principles, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. Minimum Requirements: Hold a current or anticipated appointment as an Advanced Trainee/consultant in psychiatry with Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District. Be a qualified medical graduate currently undertaking Advanced training in psychiatry, or eligible for unrestricted registration as a psychiatrist, or medical registration on an advanced psychiatry training pathway in New South Wales (without conditions on registration) as an FRANZCP.
