Lecturer position within Swinburne Law School Full-time, ongoing position at our Hawthorn campus Academic Level B salary + 17% superannuation and staff benefits About the Role  We are seeking a Lecturer to join our Swinburne Law School within the School of Business, Law and Entrepreneurship.
The School teaches undergraduate programs in law, including the Bachelor of Laws and the Bachelor of Criminal Justice and Criminology with a focus on law, technology and practical skills.
You will be expected to prepare and deliver on-campus classes as well as prepare and grade assessments.
You will also be expected to contribute to the delivery of the School's online offerings.
This includes developing and supporting academic programs and working with the academic team in the development of program change and innovation.
You are also expected to mentor and counsel students on academic matters and may also supervise PhD students.
In this role, you will be required to contribute to the school's research output, income and impact and will assume administrative tasks associated with normal teaching duties and contribute to school management and administration generally.
This position is expected to participate in activities that foster and build further on existing links with government, business, communities and the law profession in Australia and internationally.
About You   To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:  Demonstrated ability to undertake teaching, associated administrative duties, coordination and curriculum development at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels – particularly with capacity to teach in at least two of the key areas of law offered by the School.
Demonstrated commitment to innovative education, including blended learning formats, online teaching and the use of case studies, role-plays and/or simulations in the learning environment.
Demonstrated commitment to research in the university context, a capacity in the use of a variety of research methods and a track record of publishing in discipline relevant quality academic journals.
Demonstrated ability to work productively and cooperatively with others in a team environment and an ability to manage the teaching team.
Demonstrated ability, or potential, to attract research funding from sources external to the university or to contribute to funded research projects is preferred.
Qualifications An earned doctoral qualification in the relevant discipline or a related field (Essential) A law degree that fulfills the academic requirements for admission to legal practice (Essential) Admission to legal practice (Preferred) A teaching qualification (Preferred) About Swinburne University of Technology  Swinburne Horizon 2025 draws upon our understanding of future challenges.
