About The Team The School of Media and Communications offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in a broad range of disciplines, including Graphic Design, Games, Arts and Design, Photography, Screen Production, Sound, Strategic Communication, Web Communication, Global Media and Communication and Design Thinking.Murdoch's Graphic Design units are delivered across a range of degrees, including Bachelor of Creative media, Bachelor of Communication, Graduate Certificate in Design Thinking, and the Graduate Diploma in Design Thinking and Service Innovation.

The Lecturer in Creative Media (Graphic Design) is expected to carry out activities to develop scholarly research and professional expertise relevant to the profession or discipline.
You will coordinate and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate units in User Experience, digital design, print design, and design thinking.
The lecturer will publish impactful scholarly research, supervise honours and postgraduate students, and contribute meaningfully to the administrative operations of the School and University.Your key responsibilities will include – Contributing to the development and leadership of the discipline and School.Prepare and deliver classes in a range of face-to-face, online and blended models.Design and coordinate undergraduate and postgraduate units, ensuring they meet the teaching and learning plans of the School.Mark and moderate assessments, provide prompt and meaningful feedback to students and return final unit marks to the University prior to all due dates.Contribute to curriculum design, review and renewal at the School and College levels.Undertake independent and collaborative research by producing quality publications and developing a national profile.Provide supervision to Honours and postgraduate research and higher degree by research projects (HDR) from proposal to examination, and examine Honours and/or postgraduate research theses.Please refer to the Position Description for further details.

This Continuous | Part time (30 hours per fortnight) role attracts a remuneration of ACLEB $108,000 – $128,000 (pro rata) plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.

Your most recent resume (CV)Selection Criteria: PhD (or substantial progress towards completion) and publication record relevant to Graphic Design, with the ability to teach in the aforementioned areas, ORA Masters level qualification may be considered in conjunction with over 5 years of industry experience, evidenced by a portfolio of work.Portfolio of recent professional work that demonstrates proficiency in the relevant teaching areas.Demonstrated University experience or equivalent professional experience in which you have contributed to teaching, research and/or leadership.Leadership skills, capability to coordinate academic programs and the successful design of high-quality curriculum.Successful track record in achieving high-quality research outputs independently and/or as part of a team.Capability to supervise honours, postgraduate and HDR students to completion.Demonstrated teaching experience in mixed modes of delivery, commitment to student engagement and retention, and the ability to deliver high-quality student experiences in face to face and online learning.Applicants should refer to the Position Description for further details on the work requirements, duties, skills and experience required for this role.
