St Francis Xavier's Primary School Belmont is seeking a Temporary Full-Time Learning Support Teacher to join the team in 2025 for 12 months.
St Francis Xavier's Primary School is a Catholic systemic school in the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. At St Francis Xavier's, we promote an inclusive and innovative learning environment where students can learn, achieve and grow.
Job Description The Learning Support Teacher (K-6) in a Catholic school has a unique role to play and is assigned with the task of ensuring each child has the opportunity to grow both academically and spiritually and to live a purposeful life. Responsibilities include:
Assist with the identification of students with special educational needs and collaborate with parents and colleagues. Deliver intervention and assist teachers with curriculum differentiation. Collaborate with class teachers to assist in the design and implementation of adjustments. Work collaboratively with other Learning Support personnel. Contribute to staff professional development and parent education programs. Liaise with relevant schools regarding transition periods. Prepare documentation required under legislation for privacy and disability obligations. Support the development of inclusive learning environments. Assist in implementing programs for students with disabilities. Help build capacity of school staff in Special Education. Desired Skills and Experience EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA
Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and commitment to Catholic education. Experience working with students with disabilities (K-6). Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff and stakeholders. Experience in delivering professional learning for staff and parents. Ability to gather and utilize assessment data effectively. Experience in preparing Personalised Plans and Learner Profiles. Experience in supporting student enrolment and transitions. Knowledge of Disability legislation and the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data. Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and administrative skills. QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications as a four-year trained teacher or approved as three-year trained due to significant prior experience. Active NESA Accreditation. Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number. Completion of anaphylaxis training. Completion of CPR training. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2023.
