We're looking for full-time or part-time Learning Support Assistants in both secondary and primary. We are after candidates who can work well with students and have strong relational skills. This role would suit a teacher in training.

LEARNING SUPPORT PROGRAM The mission of the Lighthouse Christian College Learning Support Program is to provide appropriate assistance to students demonstrating additional needs, in order to optimise their learning and help them find and fulfil their God-ordained function in life. These additional needs may include intellectual, social, emotional, behavioural and physical difficulties that are seen to cause impediment to student learning. The role of the Learning Support Assistant is to work with subject teachers and other members of the College community to facilitate optimal student learning.
The role may involve bending, kneeling, lifting and other moderately strenuous physical activity.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA Essential Strong English language skills Capacity to engage and motivate students Strong relational and behavioural management skills Current WWCC and valid Police Check Active involvement in a Christian church Desirable Knowledge of different learning disabilities Understanding of literacy and numeracy learning outcomes and skills Previous experience in learning support Certificate III in Learning Intervention Ability to interact well with children
