Location ProfileBallarat Specialist School caters for students aged from 3 to 18 years who have a diagnosed intellectual disability ranging from mild to profound. RoleLearning Specialists are highly skilled classroom practitioners who spend time in the classroom delivering high-quality teaching and learning and have a range of responsibilities related to their expertise.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate high-level expertise in teaching and learning practice.

Model exemplary classroom practice including through teaching demonstration lessons.

Lead and manage the development of the school's assessment and reporting policies and practices.

Provide expert advice about the content, processes and strategies that will shape individual and school professional learning.

Support teachers and PLC leaders with planning ensuring fidelity to Ballarat Specialist School guidelines and requirements.

Who May ApplyTeachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.

Conditions of Employment

A probationary period may apply during the first year of employment.
