About us
Iluka Resources is a global critical minerals company, with a proud 70 year history, entering a pivotal time of growth. With a bright future ahead, we are seeking team members for our exciting Balranald operation where we will be deploying a new mining technology. Using remotely operated, novel underground mining (UGM) technology to extract key critical minerals. The technology we have developed enables access to ore bodies previously thought to be uneconomic - in future, we hope it brings potential to unlock other deep deposits of critical minerals, including those nearby to the Balranald project.
About the location
Iluka's Balranald operation is located just outside of Balranald township in regional south-western NSW. You can choose to reside locally, drive-in drive-out from towns within the regional area, or fly-in fly-out from Melbourne.
About the role
Be a part of the operation right from the start as we build our People systems, infrastructure and camp facilities. As Learning & Development Officer, you will play a critical role in developing the capability of our operational and technical workforce.
Your onboarding will require you to spend some time in our Perth office and at one of our existing operations, to get you familiar with Iluka's way of working and systems.
Your accountabilities will include: Liaising with site stakeholders to identify, plan, coordinate and deliver specific training needs across siteDesigning and/or reviewing L&D initiatives and training materials, including presentations, session plans, learner guides, assessments and any procedures that support the creation/amendment of this materialProviding learning design expertise to subject matter experts to support the development of new operational training content and materials as requiredUtilising systems and data to conduct training needs analyses in order to meet competency and compliance requirementsCoordinating and scheduling external vendors for delivery of on and off site course delivery and assessmentCoordinating and delivering inductions for new employees and contractors visiting the site, including set up of online inductions prior to site arrivalEnsuring course policy documentation, assessments and schedules are available and maintained in the LMS (Workday Learning)Supporting Operators and Maintenance Technicians on site to achieve learning outcomes associated with progression through training frameworks and monitoring the status of this progressionTravel to other operational sites and corporate offices may be required during the course of your work to deliver specialised training or support centralised Capability Team initiativesAbout you To be successful for this role, you will have: Learning and development experience in a mining or industrial environmentTAE40116 or TAE40120 Certificate IV in Training and AssessmentStrong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills ensuring collaboration building relationshipsProven communication skills, written and oral, with a range of audiences across many levels of the businessExcellent coordination and scheduling skills maintaining sites compliance and supporting operational performance through capability developmentHighly developed computer skills including the MS Office suite (particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word) and an understanding of learning management systemsProven ability in the design, development and delivery of learning content and materials based on training needs analysisDemonstrated experience in delivering a range of operational courses, such as isolations, permit issuing, hot work awareness, dust awareness, fire extinguisherOur offer to you Family friendly 8:6 rosterNew camp facilities, including gym and a swimming poolBe supported through an inclusive and collaborative cultureOpportunities for training and professional developmentUp to 18 weeks paid parental leaveCompetitive remuneration package including allowances and bonus structureCompany share matching schemeAttractive relocation assistance packages for those interestedWe are committed to upholding our Business Values, supporting equal opportunities, gender equality and cultural diversity.
