ABOUT THE ROLE Thiess is looking for experienced Production Leading Hands to join our team at the Peak Downs mine, located near Moranbah in the Bowen Basin.
Roster: 7 days on / 7 days off, rotating between days and nights.
RESPONSIBILITIES Support the Production Supervisor by leading a mining crew to achieve production targets safely and efficiently.
Step up as a Supervisor when needed.
Perform regular inspections and complete reports as per site policies.
Coordinate dispatch personnel, production operators, and equipment to meet production schedules.
Apply mining practices to help reduce costs and improve efficiency.
Look for ways to continuously improve.
REQUIREMENTS Experience as a Step-Up Supervisor or Leading Hand in open-cut coal mining is highly valued.
Solid understanding of open-cut coal mining operations.
Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills with a friendly and motivational approach.
Proven leadership and people management experience.
Relevant qualifications in the coal mining industry.
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Current S123 and G2 certifications.
