The OpportunityAs Leading Hand, you are required to assist and supervise crew members in the effective implementation of Works Operations and Construction programs and safety ensuring they are carried out in accordance with relevant safe work procedures.
Reporting to the Works Team Leader, this position provides day-to-day oversight of crews and jobs as delegated.

Under the supervision of the Works Team Leader, the primary responsibilities and accountabilities of this position is to undertake general duties associated with leading a team in a civil construction environment.

To be successful, you will demonstrate personal attributes that are consistent with Councils values of Integrity, People Focused, Excellence and Sustainability and you will possess the following:
Skills and Qualifications:
Certificate III in Civil Construction (Highly Desirable), or equivalent relevant experience sufficient to undertake the range of activities required; Heavy rigid vehicle licence (Highly desirable); Experience in the operation of various types of mobile plant and equipment (Highly Regarded); Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and supervise teams, including contractor staff, in a maintenance and/or construction environment; Demonstrated experience in reading and interpreting construction documents and setting out of works; Experience in construction activities including concrete, formwork, laying pipes/culverts, undertaking road construction and maintenance activities; Sound knowledge of WHS requirements in a maintenance/construction environment; and Construction Induction Card Mandatory.

General Salary InformationLevel 5 + Construction + Leading Hand Allowance - $66,240 per annum plus superannuation, $33.52 per hour.

Working Conditions and Physical RequirementsPre-employment screening includes Medicals, Drug and Alcohol Testing, and Criminal History Checks to ensure capability to perform the inherent requirements of the role.
