About this Position: We have an exciting opportunity for multiple Leading Hands to join our Roads department.
The primary function of the Leading Hand is to independently lead teams in road construction, maintenance, and quarry operations, while also providing crucial support to the Field Supervisor when required.
This role is vital in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment across the Roads and Quarry department.
This role is critical in building and maintaining the infrastructure that connects communities.
What We can offer you: Attractive wages and conditions Training and development opportunities Employee Assistance and Health & Wellbeing Programs What we trust you to deliver: Lead small teams and contractors to complete road construction and maintenance tasks safely, on time, and to a high standard Support the Field Supervisor with daily planning, scheduling, safety inspections, and team operations Manage resources, including materials, equipment, and tools, to ensure efficient and effective use Operate and maintain heavy plant, vehicles, and equipment, ensuring proper use and compliance with safety requirements Mentor and develop less experienced team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment What you will need to be successful: Cert III Civil Construction and/or relevant experience Current Class MR Licence General Construction Induction Card (White Card) Demonstrated experience in leading and supervising teams in Road maintenance and construction activities Have the ability to prioritise and schedule work and meet deadlines Have the capability to lead a team Have personal integrity and take responsibility A passion for Lismore and personal values that align with our mission More information Full position description: Click here Full Time: 76 hours per fortnight  Salary: Attractive wages and conditions, including a 76-hour fortnight with an RDO, plus on-call and overtime opportunities Closing date: Friday 10 January 2025 at 9am  Contact: If you want to know more about this opportunity, please contact Jeremy Sleigh, Manager Roads Delivery, on 0427 017 162 or email ******  Please note: Council will be closed from 21 December 2024 to 1 January 2025, re-opening on 2 January 2025.
