The Position
The position is responsible for ensuring AlburyCity Council and the broader community meets its obligations under the Biosecurity Act 2015, Biosecurity Regulation 2017, and the Murray River Strategic Pest Animal Management Plan. It is required to assist with activities associated with the protection, restoration, and maintenance of Natural Areas across reserves, parks, and landscapes within AlburyCity.
Working 38 hours per week with a fortnightly RDO Flexible working arrangement Come and work for an engaging and dynamic team Qualifications & Experience TAFE or tertiary qualification in Conservation and Land Management, Natural Resources Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience AQF -3 Chemical Handling Certificate or equivalent Construction Induction Card Class C (Standard) Driver's Licence (compulsory to have and maintain) Relevant understanding of Legislations and regulations relating to pest plants and animals Tasks & Responsibilities Undertake all employee management activities relevant to the role, including recruitment, performance management and reviews, employee development, disciplinary action, rostering and timesheets, as well as ensuring a high level of employee motivation and team harmony. Assist with coordination and planning activities and undertake as required, coordinated weed control activities, natural area rehabilitation projects, and assist in the maintenance of natural areas, reserves, and landscape areas. Ensure compliance with the Biosecurity Act 2015 and Biosecurity Regulation 2017 through the inspection, control, monitoring, and mapping of weed and pest species on land within AlburyCity boundaries. Enforce the Biosecurity Act 2015 and other relevant Acts and Regulations through the issuing of notices as required by relevant legislation. Ensure compliance with the Murray River Strategic Pest Animal Management Plan. Hours
Based on a 38-hour week, with actual days and times being Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, with an RDO in accordance with AlburyCity's RDO guidelines.
