This family owned and run business just 15mins from Bundaberg CBD has gone from strength to strength over the last 5 years. The general manager has developed a positive, encouraging and supportive work environment for an ever-growing team that contribute daily to improving production across the orchard and nursery. As part of this business, you will be given a chance to learn, grow and develop your skills in people and process management whilst contributing to the ongoing improvement of the current Orchard operations.The role itself? Reporting directly to the Orchard Operations Manager, the successful person will need to:Under the direction of the farm manager, schedule work on the farmWork with, supervise and instruct labour teams to carry out farm work processesOperate all farm machineryLiaise with farm manager and farm staff to monitor cropsPrepare and implement maintenance schedules for farm structures and equipmentConstruct and maintain irrigation systemsImplement workplace health and safety proceduresPerform duties assigned to farm handsPrioritise workload in order to achieve production KPI's & quality targetsMonitor & treat pest and diseasesImplement integrated pest management program as requiredWeekly involvement in a leadership meeting on progress of the farm program, along with any issuesDevelop and maintain clear communication with the farm teamRaise farm infrastructure maintenance issues as they ariseFollow company OHS rules and regulationsWhat kind of person will fit the role? To be considered for this position:+3 years experience in a farm hand, farm supervisor or equivalent positionA person with experience in tree crop productionCurrent driver's license MR or HR license beneficialCommercial Spray Operator experience, Chemcert accreditation; High Risk Work License – Forklift OperationA person with strong accuracy, attention to detail and analytical skillsA person with Australian residency and/or long-term working VISAHow will you be rewarded?
