The corporate office houses key functions including HR, Finance, External Affairs, Sustainability Strategy, Corporate Development, Investor Relations, Group Risk, Legal and Technical. The Lead Tax International role will oversee tax compliance and advisory efforts across diverse non-operating jurisdictions. You'll shape strategic international tax advice for South32, supporting exciting business development opportunities and key projects. Your expertise will span Australian and global tax landscapes, fostering relationships with authorities and advisers. You'll also lead critical initiatives like BEPS 2.0 Pillar 2 calculations. Your keen eye for detail and commitment to excellence will ensure top-quality, timely deliverables that drive the company's success.
Reporting to the Senior Tax Manager – International, key responsibilities include:
Guide tax compliance efforts across non-operating entities, overseeing tax return preparation and fostering robust reporting, accounting, and forecasting processes.Offer valuable tax insights on M&A initiatives and refining internal capital structures within the South32 group.Manage the South32 Group's BEPS 2.0 Pillar 2 and transfer pricing obligations.Support the senior tax manager in cultivating innovative strategies and enhancing tax compliance practices across non-operating jurisdictions.ABOUT YOU You will ideally have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
Draw from rich experience gained over at least ten years in prominent corporate or professional service environmentsBring deep insights into international Australian tax law, encompassing areas such as CFC, CFI, and tax treatiesExperience with non-Australian tax regimes is an advantageOffer valuable commercial perspective alongside strong financial accounting capabilitiesNavigate proficiently through essential systems, with a focus on SAP and ExcelAdeptly apply practical knowledge to navigate complex tax landscapes and reporting challengesQualifications for this position are:
