How you'll make an impact As a Lead Product Manager you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining excellence in payment product management practices. You will have a deep understanding of the products and customers (external or internal) within your portfolio. Your impact will be measured by your ability to improve product practice and capability.
You'll explain and promote a balance of 'Best Practice' and innovative product approaches to enable teams to achieve world-class product management at Xero. You'll contribute to the product strategy being in place to enable successful implementation of roadmaps and effective delivery. You will coach and train other product team members, and where required, step in to solve complex and protracted product problems.
This role is within a product team as the Product Lead collaborating across different parts of the product. The focus of this pod is a payments first initiative called payment links, as well as our pricing tools and strategy. You will be part of an influential, growth part of the business, with big revenue aspirations and strong product leaders to learn from.
What you'll do We make it beautiful: Support, develop and deliver core product management role responsibilities including identifying customer problems and defining solutions to test, developing and managing product roadmaps or strategies, and developing product release strategies.We make it happen: Lead the development of networks across Xero to frame how products fit into Xero's strategy, objectives and future. Consistently review, monitor and interrogate the commercial & customer results of products, areas and teams to inform product strategy and practice.We make it human: Collaborate and consult effectively with the broader Portfolio leadership team on product delivery and strategy: Engineering, Product Operations and Product Strategy, Product Marketing Management, and Product Design.We make it together: Collaborate directly with 10-20 engineers and are responsible for signing off on an overall technical direction and architecture from the product perspective.About you Demonstrate knowledge, skills and expertise delivering new and improved approaches to product practice within product payments.Share expertise and experience collaborating with diverse and senior stakeholder groups to realize customer/commercial outcomes within payments as a Product Manager.Demonstrated experience with high pressure, global growth expectations with a strong track record of addressing customer needs through innovative use of technology.Attributes and motivations developing and supporting standards in product practice thought leadership, mentoring, coaching, defining product roadmaps and long-term planning at a Portfolio/Sub-portfolio(s) level.Recruitment assessment and selection process for Product Leads at Xero. 30 minute video call with Talent Specialist to align on suitability to progress/shortlist for formal interview.
60 minute cultural and technical assessment to assess for value alignment, Product Ownership, Collaboration, Leadership, Problem solving/solutions.
60 Minute Interview with Design and Engineering to assess product delivery skills.
30 Minute final interview with product leadership team.
