Wood is recruiting a Lead Planner to join our Operations team in Perth. This is a long-term staff position for someone looking to join an experienced team in Project Controls in Oil & Gas and Brownfield projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES A key focus of your role will be modifications and small projects. The contract is well established, with a broad and exciting portfolio of long-term scopes, secured across multiple onshore and offshore assets. This is a hands-on lead role and will act as the focal point for all aspects of planning support to the Brownfield team, managing the communications interfaces essential for the delivery of the Planning team and shall be responsible for ensuring systems, process, procedures, and standards are maintained.
Working as part of an integrated project team you will be:
Review and maintain baseline project plansMonitor and control planning activities through all phases of project lifecycleLiaise with engineering, procurement and construction functions, and others as requiredAnalyze and issue copies of project plans and schedules in accordance with project reporting requirementsAnalyze and issue copies of project progress and performance status reports in accordance with project reporting requirementsReview and analyze updates to project plans, schedules and project resource requirementsAssess and communicate schedule impact of change notificationsLiaise with cost discipline to ensure accurate and timely control and forecasting of man-hour budgets and ensure that the impact of all change requests is properly assessed and included in the schedulesPlay a key role in the mentoring and career development of Planning personnel QUALIFICATIONS Please note you must be an Australian citizen or currently hold Permanent Residency (PR) and able to work lawfully in Australia.
Ideally, you will have a minimum of 10 + years' experience as a Planner working in an Engineering environment. In addition, ISCED level 6 (Bachelors) Degree in a relevant technical or business discipline (or equivalent gained through relevant vocational training and/or industry experience).
You will have:
Advanced knowledge of Primavera and other scheduling software and related tools and techniques including Logic and CPM analysis, resource loading and levellingAdvanced understanding of WBS and project reporting capabilitiesAdvanced ability to develop level 3 schedules and plansExcellent understanding of earned value application, schedule variance analyses/trending and what-if scenariosAdvanced understanding of project management principles and techniquesprior experience in a senior planning role What will set you apart will be your exceptional stakeholder management skills (internal & external) and relevant experience in an EPCM / Engineering environment in the Oil & Gas and energy sector in Australia.
