We are seeking a Lead Java Developer to join our Applications Development and Maintenance (AD&M) team.
The Lead Java Developer will work under the direction of the AD&M Team Leader and will be responsible for designing, coding, deployment, and supporting of NCVER's enterprise-level Java based solutions.
The successful candidate will: Design, develop, test, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure Java-based applications using best practices.
Collaborate with the Team Leader, Business Analysts and other subject matter experts on technical solutions for functional and non-functional business requirements.
Work across multiple tasks requiring flexibility and adaptability, including ongoing development of applications, upgrading the technology platform, application support, problem solving, and issue resolution.
Implement and optimize Dev Ops practices and tools, such as CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure as code, to enhance the efficiency and reliability of software delivery and deployment.
Ensure the best practices, and coding conventions are followed by the Java Development team.
Provide technical leadership and direction to other Java Developers.
Review and improve the processes for code reviews and unit testing to maintain high standards of software reliability, scalability, and security.
Provide advice on the use of emerging technologies.
Manage the Java development environments and tools in partnership with the IT Support team.
About you To be successful in this position you will have in-depth knowledge and experience in: Spring Framework and their application in building enterprise-level applications.
Java tools and technologies such as Hibernate, HTML, JQuery and Bootstrap toolkit.
RDMBS databases such as DB2, SQL, Unix scripting, software configuration management and automation tools such as JIRA, SVN, Bamboo and Crucible.
BPMN workflow and Drools rules engine, and experience with messaging systems.
Providing technical direction to other Java Developers.
