The Role: As the Lead Community Engagement, you will oversee and guide the strategic direction of community engagement and stakeholder management across Clarence City Council. You will be responsible for enhancing community participation in decision-making processes and ensuring that engagement practices align with the IAP2 framework and place-making principles.
Key Areas of Responsibility include: Collaborate with the leaders in the Group to achieve strategic goals and community objectives.Lead and manage community engagement initiatives and oversee the City's online engagement platform 'Your Say Clarence'.Foster a positive community engagement culture within the organisation and mentor team members to build their skills and expertise.Analyse data and interpret results from community engagement activities to produce insightful reports for stakeholders and Council.Maintain relationships with the community through participation in engagement activities and relevant events.Essential Qualifications and Experience: Ideally a degree in Project Management, Communications, Arts or relevant discipline, coupled with significant experience in community engagement within Local Council.Demonstrated experience in developing policy and strategy, with proven ability to lead organisational change as it relates to the engagement portfolio.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to prepare detailed reports and effectively negotiate across various levels of the organisation.Strong stakeholder engagement skills and a well-developed sense of political acumen.Familiarity with contemporary place-making methodologies, preferably IAP2 practices.If you are passionate about community engagement and want to make an impact in our vibrant region, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
