The role The Lead Cloud Engineer role is to provide thought leadership, technical lead experience and people management to Digital61 Engineering Team and its customers by leading high-quality architecture, development, design, implementation, and documentation of complex offerings and solutions to meet the business requirements of Digital61 and its customers. This role has a prominent focus on managing the engineering pool team, but you will use your technical ability on projects.
The Engineer Lead will be the leader of the engineering pool team, which delivers patterns, standards and offerings for Digital61 and its customers.
What you'll do Manage a medium size Cloud Engineering Team Act as a Leader and Mentor to the engineering Team, but still be hands on Review & approve proposals, system design and other technical documentation as required for infrastructure projects against ICT infrastructure architecture standards. Provide architectural guidance and direction for risk reduction, security uplift and issue management. Innovation Leadership Who Are you You will be a leader, experienced in managing engineering teams, experienced with Cloud resources and adept at managing your workload simultaneously.

Highly effective communication skills and the ability to lead and communicate effectively with both external and internal stakeholders of both technical and non-technical backgrounds. Engagement and involvement with the wider Digital61 Architecture team Problem Solver and Decision Maker. Being results and outcome orientated. Essential Technical Knowledge Working knowledge of a broad range of ICT systems such as Cloud, Windows OS, Virtualisation, Networking, *NIX, Databases, Middleware, Firewall, Storage etc, and how they relate and inter-operate. Deep exposure to Microsoft Cloud technologies across Azure, M365 Proficient in Cloud Security, in particular the Microsoft Security stack Ideally have worked across Microsoft's Morden workplace/desktop Detailed level working knowledge of specific technology areas as a subset of the above Ability to architect and design technologies they have a detailed level working knowledge of as well as develop organisation-wide standards for others to follow Ability to provide advice and experience on the technical specifics, known issues, possible pitfalls with technologies they have a detailed level working knowledge of Ability to provide expert level advice, thought leadership and experience on the technical specifics, known issues, possible pitfalls with SME technologies Ability to deliver architecture roadmaps, refresh plans, strategies, options papers, standards and processes Active engagement in technical escalation with technologies within a company, partner, vendor ecosystem Ability to choose best fits from offerings available to meet specific use cases/requirements What We Offer Diverse and dynamic teams with a supportive and inclusive culture.
