Fixed term role: to June 2027Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne CBD (flexibility may be available)The Role Lead, Cleantech and Advanced Manufacturing reports to the Deputy Director, Trade and is within the Trade Branch. The position will be responsible for delivery of Cleantech and Advanced Manufacturing trade initiatives.
The successful applicant will enjoy flexible working arrangements and undertake a wide variety of work across the group, including delivery of key programs to assist businesses access export opportunities, provide expert advice and analysis to high-level stakeholders and represent Global Victoria in a variety of forums, both internal and external.
The successful applicant will work effectively as a member of the Global Victoria team, including engaging with staff overseas in the international network of 23 Victorian Trade and Investment offices. The engagement will broaden to include other stakeholders within the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) and other branches within the Victorian Government. The role provides a great opportunity to leverage existing, or further develop, Government networks.
Lead a small team of industry trade specialists and collaborate with other teams in Global Victoria to deliver trade missions and the trade objectives for the sector strategies.Lead and implement market access, trade and investment activities/projects on behalf of DJPR directed at improving the export capability and performance of Victoria's Cleantech and Advanced Manufacturing sectors, in conjunction with government and industry collaborators.Identify, develop and foster key relationships with relevant Cleantech and Advanced Manufacturing, government and commercial stakeholders in Australia and export markets to promote Victoria's strengths and to target, maximise and facilitate trade development opportunities for Victorian businesses to grow exports.Provide strategic advice and analysis related to the sector and strategic markets that directly informs departmental programs and strategies as well as senior management and Ministers. Provide timely and relevant information to a range of internal and external clients including market reports, briefs, technical reports, presentations and assessments of market trends and opportunities for the Victorian eCommerce and consumer goods sector.The Team The position of Lead, Cleantech and Advanced Manufacturing Exports oversees the Trade team, which forms part of the Trade, Global Engagement and International Education branch within the Industry, Trade and Investment group.
The Trade Team supports Victorian businesses to access global markets. This includes leading on trade strategy, policy, insights, and improving market access for Victorian firms. The team provides support for identified priority exporters including facilitation and advice services; developing export capability; delivering a strategic program of inward and outbound missions, including conferences, expos and events and directs trade activities delivered by the Victorian Government's network of 23 Trade and Investment offices overseas.
About You Use your extensive knowledge of and experience in the Cleantech and Advanced Manufacturing sectors to advance your track record in delivering trade outcomes.
Your well-developed people management skills in an environment of tight timelines, multiple stakeholders, and pressure will deliver the Trade Teams objectives.
