KEY PURPOSE OF ROLE The Lead Architect (LA) is the Senior Technical Leadership role aligned to a single major account or to multiple accounts (typically within a sub-vertical) which are typically very complex and/or highly visible. The responsibilities of the role cover both the pre-sales phase as well as the contract phase.
The key purpose of the role is to support the client partner and account director in developing new business, to drive profitable growth, and to own the technical solution during the contract term. The LA is the customer's Trusted Advisor on all things technology and design and as such becomes an integral part of the customer's matrix technical leadership team, creating value through the exploitation of technology across complex multiple platforms and/or technology areas.
The LA is accountable for all design activities on the account and supports the key stakeholders on the account on technical elements of service, transition & transformation, and operations.
The LA is the primary customer interface up to CIO level for all technical design aspects of BT's solution.
Responsibilities: Be part of the Client Partner/Account Director's leadership team and align personal goals with the account targets, demonstrating how you are contributing to revenue generation, cashflow, EBIT, NPS, and on-time delivery.Maintain a 3+ year solution roadmap co-created with the customer's key decision makers and stakeholders, drawing on the customer's business drivers, industry trends, and BT's Repeatable product and solutions portfolio and building blocks.Accountable for successful technical delivery of all account activity with a specific focus on time, cost, and quality.Provide leadership and work with the operational teams in moments of major customer jeopardy.Ensure technical risks and issues that could impact the service are owned by the appropriate players.Create, own, and execute regular governance forums – at least quarterly - with the Account Director and VP Technical Design to evidence continuous progress against personal goals and account goals.May lead a sub-vertical and support the wider team in developing opportunities.May be involved in selecting and integrating other suppliers.THE IDEAL CANDIDATE Is an experienced Design Architect with a strong background in the following technology areas: Software Defined Networking, Unified Communications, Cloud Infrastructure, or Network Security.Has experience in transformation of network infrastructure.Has experience with network integration services.Has experience with vendor selection.Is a strong technology leader.Is able to operate at senior management level.KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Excellent understanding of technologies and technology trends like Software Defined Networking, Cloud infrastructure, Unified Communications, and Network Security.Excellent understanding of BT's portfolio and Operating model.Executive Customer Relationship Management (to C level).Virtual Team/Matrix Leadership (up to 50 people).Business and commercial acumen.Transformational and Fiscal Management.Experience As a solution lead on major accounts with revenue of > 25M.As a solution lead driving opportunity development and qualification on major accounts or prospects.Managing financial targets (Sales and cost).With driving transformation and optimization in a solutions environment.With over 175 years of heritage, BT is now the flagship business brand of BT Group.
