Our nationalBanking & Financial Services section has approximately 44 teammembers and this role will work closely with a number ofhighly-regarded Partners and lawyers across thepractice. Our team hasexpertise in advising on investment and property funds, financialservices compliance, regulation and licensing, financial productdistribution, anti-money laundering, crowdfunding, non-cashpayments, responding to ASIC surveillance, and superannuation. OurHW Funds team is Australia's leading investment fundsadvisory team. This role isbeing offered as a 6 month fixed-term contract (parental leavecover), to be based in Melbourne or Sydney. Keyresponsibilities You will beresponsible for: assisting with theestablishment and operation of funds and fund-relatedtransactions across all asset classes, including fundrestructures, mergers and closures; advisingon Australian financial services licensing and regulatoryrequirements, including assisting with licensing applications,variations and general compliance obligations; preparing and reviewingdisclosure documents including product disclosure statementsand information memoranda, advertising material, investorstatements and reports; undertaking duediligence processes in respect of proposed transactions anddisclosure documents; and reviewing fund-relatedcommercial agreements and advising on arrangements with serviceproviders. In addition,the successful candidate will contribute to the development of theBanking & Financial Services practice and the Firm by wayof: participating inmarketing and business development (including assisting inseminars and other presentations); precedents preparationand review; authoring articles forpublication; adherence to thefirm's file management policies; and participation in teamand section meetings and CPD activities. Skills andexperience We would liketo hear from you if you have the following skills andexperience: between4 - 8 years of post-admission experience in financial serviceslaw, including experience within private practice; enthusiasm for thefinancial services sector; aninterest in using innovation to develop thepractice; excellent technical,analytical and drafting skills with keen attention todetail; a strongcommitment to client service and the ability to manage clientrelationships; a focuson achieving commercial solutions for our clients; awillingness and ability to mentor and supervise junior membersof the team; and theability to organise and prioritise effectively.
