We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Lawyer to practice in general commercial dispute resolution matters in Sydney.
The role will offer varied and stimulating work with Principals on a variety of disputes in a number of jurisdictions, client contact, and a supportive team environment.
The successful applicant needs to be commercial in their thinking and approach, possess good technical skills, and have the ability to cope with a busy and intellectually stimulating workload.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Conducting litigation and dispute resolution matters; Appearing at pre-hearing conferences and directions hearings; Drafting statement of Claims for proceedings; Drafting Further and Better Particulars, Requests for Further and Better Particulars, Affidavits of Documents, Affidavits of Particular Discovery, and Affidavits in support of interlocutory applications and Affidavits in support of applications for default and summary judgements; Drafting briefs to Counsel; Calculating costs according to scale; Preparing and organising mediations in Supreme and District Court proceedings; Knowledge of Court Rules; Management of own files in relation to Court timetable; Supervision and mentoring of junior staff; Time recording and billing; Marketing and business development activities.
Skills/Knowledge Good drafting skills with attention to detail; Communication and relationship building; Time management skills; Financial discipline and accountability.
Experience 2 to 3 years PAE in litigation or general commercial dispute resolution matters.
