Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) is currently looking for our first cohort of Grade 2 Resident Pharmacists to join our innovative and collaborative training program on a fixed term, full time basis until March 2027.
LRH's Pharmacy Department is offering a leading edge and synergistic education partnership with Alfred Health Pharmacy Department , a team with a national reputation for originality and excellence. This unique opportunity blends aspects of clinical experience across both health services, a major tertiary and a major regional hospital. The long-term education partnership will deliver education programs including foundation residency and advanced training residencies in specialty areas such as perioperative services and many others to come at Latrobe Regional Health.
Successful applicants will be based at LRH and provided with integrated education and training programs with Alfred Health. As a Resident Pharmacist, you will have the unique and exciting opportunity to join our Foundation Residency Program, a structured and supported two-year Training Program, nationally accredited by the Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia.
The Program is highly suited to motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacists who have recently completed their internship or those new to hospital practice. A comprehensive curriculum outlines core knowledge and skills to be developed, with six-month rotations in General Medicine, Surgery, Operations and an elective rotation to another specialty clinical area such as Mental Health or Oncology. Foundation Residents will have the opportunity to take part in collaborative education and training opportunities at Alfred Health.
Key features of the Foundation Residency Program include:
Comprehensive training and education curriculum. Clinical mentorship (including regular clinical assessments and feedback). Engagement in and completion of an audit or quality improvement project. Development of an Advanced Practice Portfolio. Following completion of the Foundation Residency Program, you can progress your practice towards the Advanced Pharmacy Practice Framework Transition Level (Advanced-Stage 1).
About you
Ideal candidates for this role will:
Have a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree with current Registration with AHPRA, without restriction. Be newly registered or be a Pharmacist new to the hospital Pharmacy practice. The ability to work in a team. Latrobe Regional Health offers a range of benefits including:
