Gippsland Region Public Health Unit (GRPHU) hosted by Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Deputy Director. The successful candidate will provide high-quality public health leadership and expertise within GRPHU, LRH and other affiliated sites in the Gippsland Region. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative environment within a multidisciplinary public health team. This is a fixed-term, full-time position until February 2026.
The role of the Deputy Director is to provide direction and guidance to the respective craft groups across a range of responsibilities, ensuring high quality, contemporary public health services are integrated within the clinical and operating frameworks of LRH and the Department of Health (DH). Working with the clinical and operations leadership, the Deputy Director will work on clinical and business processes to ensure the effective daily and ongoing management of the GRPHU. The Deputy Director shall act as a subject matter expert in their respective field and provide specialty-specific advice as required. Liaison and coordination with other public health specialties is critical, as is the ongoing service development and teaching to provide a sustainable service.

Ideal candidates for this role will have:
Demonstrated prior senior leadership and management experience. Demonstrated experience in Public Health. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to quality improvement, education and research. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with Public Health colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary Public Health team and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, staff, partners and other key stakeholders.
