In the Large Animal Attendant position, you will feed hospitalised animals (equine, bovine, small ruminants), clean and maintain animal accommodation, perform general maintenance of centre grounds, paddocks, and fences. You will also assist in the post mortem room with the disposal of large and small animal cadavers and with handling large animals as well as assist in the equine theatre for horse inductions and recovery post surgery.
Your key responsibilities will be to: Feed large animals that are hospitalised.Clean equine stables and livestock housing areas.Dispose of large animal and small animal cadavers.Maintain and observe rural fencing.Maintain the general cleanliness of the UVTHC Post Mortem room and clinical treatment areas.Maintain sufficient stock feed levels for all animals housed at UVTHC and source feed suppliers, placing orders.Participate in weekend shifts on a rotating roster.About you: The University values courage and creativity; openness and engagement; inclusion and diversity; and respect and integrity.
