The City Futures team sits within Planning and Place directorate and includes Council's integrated and strategic planning functions. The multi-disciplinary team is responsible for delivering urban design, open space planning, strategic transport, strategic land-use planning, and strategic property management.
About the role
The Landscape Architect will work on key projects including open spaces, streetscapes, transport and placemaking projects that will affect how our city looks, feels, and functions. This role focuses on enhancing Glen Eira's sense of place, amenity, and character through top-quality design projects.
Other responsibilities include: Work within the City Futures team on a range of streetscape, open space, active transport and placemaking projects. Develop, design and plan landscape architecture projects including streetscape improvements, new public open spaces and placemaking installations. Provide design assistance for urban forest and green/blue infrastructure projects in Council and to collaborate with different teams within Council to green the city. About you
You will play a key role in shaping and creating well-designed, liveable and vibrant open spaces for our community. You will have effective communication and people engagement skills, be results oriented and have exceptional attention to detail.
The following is also required:
Tertiary qualification in Landscape Architecture or a closely related field. Professional experience in management of public realm and landscape architecture projects at a variety of scales. High level of design understanding, appreciation and contemporary trends in urban design and landscape architecture. Current driver's license is desirable. Pre-employment checks
