We are looking for a Noongar person with a keen interest in maps and organising information to assist with land administration functions needed for the Noongar Land Estate.About usWe (SWALSC) are a central services corporation (CSC) for the South West Native Title Settlement. The South West Native Title Settlement is the largest native title settlement in Australian history. It affects an estimated 30,000 Noongar people, encompasses approximately 200,000 square kilometres in Western Australia's south-west, and has a financial worth of approximately $1.3 billion.
The Settlement is made up of six individual Indigenous Land User Agreements and establishes six Noongar regional corporations.
To support the Settlement, we (SWALSC) deliver a range of administrative, corporate, financial, and unique services to the six Noongar regional corporations, who are our external clients.
We offerCompetitive remuneration package:Salary range between $87,656 to $110,913 per annum depending on experience, + superannuation.Annual salary increase every year based on CPI.Salary packaging (up to $15,899 a year, + meal/entertainment benefit of $2,650 a year).Generous leave entitlements:10 days Noongar Cultural Leave per annum.5 weeks annual leave per year + additional leave to cover the Christmas shut down period + 17.5% leave loading5 days compassionate leave per occasion.7 weeks LSL vested after 7 years of service.Employee Assistance Program.Flextime arrangements for better work/life balance.Work culture that celebrates and supports Noongar values.About the roleAssist the Noongar Lands Coordination Manager to provide external clients help with land-related queries as well as provide administrative support for land-related services.
Location: East Perth, may be required to travel within the South West Settlement area
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Duties:Reporting to the Noongar Lands Coordination Manager, you will:
Administer the Land Management System.Liaise with stakeholders and clients regarding the Noongar Land Register and Noongar Land Estate.Provide administration support.Assist with project work.Act as a representative at external meetings with clients and stakeholders.Provide secretariat support for land-related meetings.Maintain land records and update databases with land-related data.Respond to queries received via phone and email.Provide ongoing support for land-related project services.Selection Criteria:Level 5: Aboriginality is an essential criterion under Section 50(d) of the Equal Employment Opportunity Act 1984 (WA).IT literate and able to use, or willingness to learn, land mapping related computer systems.Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal society and cultures and the issues affecting Aboriginal communities (knowledge of Noongar society highly desirable).Excellent oral and written communication skills, including in a cross-cultural context.Able to constructively engage with government and corporate stakeholders.Able to adapt and learn new skills.Able to work independently on a wide variety of projects and produce positive and effective outcomes.Level 6: In addition to Level 5:
Demonstrated previous experience using land mapping related computer systems (such as GIS).Demonstrated working knowledge of Western Australian land tenure.Experience providing administrative support services in a land environment.Demonstrated experience engaging constructively with government and corporate stakeholders on land-related matters.Diversity: Under Section 50(d) of the Equal Employment Opportunity Act 1984, Aboriginality is considered an essential criterion.
