We have a wonderful new opportunity for a Land Use Planning Specialist to join our Integrated Solutions Group. Working in the City & Regional Futures team, you will be responsible for providing planning and policy advice that aligns Urban Utilities' Strategic Plans for water and sewerage services and helps to achieve the liveability outcome of our communities. You will play an integral role in helping identify opportunities and strategies to help shape our cities and towns including using the 2032 Olympics and Paralympics as an enabling opportunity.
You will also support thinking and strategy development around housing affordability and availability within our service territory. Urban Utilities has a key role to play in this societal challenge, being champions for change and identifying opportunities for greater land access for our customers and communities.
Key Accountabilities: Manage the delivery of elements of the Land Use Planning Futures strategy that informs an aligned and approved approach regarding how Urban Utilities will shape and influence the Urban Planning Life Cycle to support our service strategies. Contributing to the strategic development and use of the Water Netserv Plan as a key framework underpinning interaction with the development sector and Local Governments. You will upgrade Netserv to drive infrastructure investment from the development sector. Leads the development of the partnership strategy across all aspects of urban planning with Shareholding Councils and provide leadership associated to water services, regional growth planning, water cycle and environment management. Develop and implement a collaborative stakeholder engagement strategy and plans to ensure relevant stakeholders and key agencies at a local and state government level including those responsible for the Olympic precincts. About You: We are seeking candidates who are passionate about shaping our future, and ideally have the following qualifications, skills and experiences:
Tertiary education in Economics, Policy, Law, Town Planning, Commerce or Business or equivalent relevant experience. Knowledge and understanding of integrated socio-economic, infrastructure and land use planning concepts and processes related to the Water NetServ Plan or local government infrastructure plans and planning schemes. Understanding and demonstrated experience in Queensland legislation for planning and land use matters. You are a big picture thinker and natural collaborator, and enjoy meaningfully engaging with internal and external stakeholder groups to collaborate and align on key servicing strategies and objectives.
