Lalla Rookh Bar & Eating House is looking for an enthusiastic, passionate individual to take on the role of Head Chef for our city location. Recognised for our Modern Italian food over the last 12 years, this is an opportunity for the right person to further their career in an established setting. This is a hands-on role that will suit someone who still has a passion for cooking yet can also lead and develop a team. Lalla Rookh is a mixed-use venue with a significant bar space and 100 plus seat dining area and wine store. Applicants must be willing to understand all aspects of the business.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate: Experience as Head or Sous Chef in a premium, large scale venue. Experience and understanding of Italian cooking. A desire to build and develop a team. An ability to put their own stamp on the menu in line with the established brand. Good communication within the kitchen and between FOH, kitchen, and office. Sound understanding of budget control and achieving financial targets. Knowledge of OH&S regulations, including food safety program and its relevant documentation. Experience with building and maintaining supplier relationships. Customer-first attitude and collaborative approach to working with FOH. Pride and passion in your work.
