QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government. It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities. About the role You will play a crucial role in helping QBuild strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry by providing essential labour support on key projects.
Duties and skills involved: Dig/clear fence post holes and concreting in fence posts.Assist tradespersons in building or engineering work, such as building door/window frames, running cables in walls and ceiling spaces, digging/back filling trenches for drainage.Change light bulbs, tubes.Clean and maintain refrigeration equipment e.g., filters and evaporator coils.Load/unload trucks and inventory control.Foundation work which includes digging in various soil types and form work.Concrete work which includes preparation prior to and assist with concrete pours.Assist painters in minor touch-up work and movement/set up of scaffold or ladders.General maintenance of depots or client premises, such as mowing, weeding, cleaning/maintaining equipment.Work on roofs when assisting tradespersons.Assist in furniture shifts - building to building or floor to floor.Basic soldering and/or welding.Basic computer skills. Additional requirements: Current Workplace Health & Safety General Safety Induction Card (White Card).Current Australian Driver's License.Current HR license. How do I apply?
