Join our dynamic team as a casual Laboratory Technician! In this role, you'll be responsible for the preparation and analysis of environmental samples using techniques like weighing, digesting, titrating, and solvent extraction. You'll ensure compliance with ALS Quality Work Instructions while organizing tasks to maximize daily efficiencies and meeting timeframes and analysis standards. We're looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a passion for science. TAFE qualifications and prior lab experience are desirable but not essential. Flexibility to work weekends or holidays and a dedication to quality and safety are a must.
The day to dayPreparation and analysis of water and sediment – weighing, digesting, titrating, or solvent extraction of samplesEnsuring that preparation and analytical procedures and associated tasks are conducted in accordance with ALS Quality Work InstructionsOrganising designated tasks to maximise daily efficienciesCompleting all tasks within both the timeframe set by the Supervisor and the relevant analysis standardHighlighting anomalies in results and sample type/behaviour.The essentialsA genuine interest in the Science industryTAFE qualifications desirable but not essentialA desire to work in a high-throughput, client-focused environment, with preference given to those with previous commercial laboratory experienceExcellent attention to detail, organizational and time management skillsDedication to good laboratory practices with regard to quality of results and health and safetyFlexibility to work public holidays and weekend shifts if requiredWillingness to be cross trained in other sections of the laboratoryDedication to go the extra mile, be solutions driven and ensure there is no compromise on qualityWorking at ALSOur people drive our success at ALS.
