The role ALS Geochemistry in Orange is seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team, dedicated to exceeding client expectations by consistently delivering high-quality results on time.

This is a Full-Time role, and you will be responsible for Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) and ICP-AES operations.
Your responsibilities during the afternoon shift (Monday to Friday, 1:30 PM to 9:30 PM) will encompass but are not limited to, the following: Run, operate and maintain AAS & ICP spectrometers Follow procedures and adhere to QAQC protocols Preventative Maintenance of equipment QAQC calibration and equipment verification checks Follow Schedule shift workflow and priorities Highlighting anomalies in results, sample type, and sample behaviour Optimizing and Maintaining instruments to meet QAQC requirements, including troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of instrument components.
Running sample batches in an ordered and timely fashion.
You will receive on-the-job training in the technical components and procedures of the role.
This is a residential role.
To be considered, you must reside in or plan to relocate to Orange, NSW, and have current Australian work rights.
The essentials A genuine interest in the Science Industry, preferably with a BSc (Chemistry, Environmental Science or similar) or TAFE qualifications in Laboratory Techniques A desire to work in a high-throughput, customer-focused environment, with preference given to those with previous commercial laboratory experience Excellent attention to detail, organizational and time management skills Desire to learn new skills Good communication and time management skills A strong desire to exceed client expectations by delivering quality results on time The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision whilst being committed to the work of a team Working at ALS Our people drive our success at ALS.
