ALS assesses and ranks coal product physical handling, blend propensity, and every element of performance and behaviour to provide an accurate picture of product marketability and value-in-use.About the Position An excellent opportunity has become available for full-time and casual Laboratory Technicians to work in the Physical Testing and Analytical laboratory, at our Mackay site. We are looking for suitably qualified Laboratory Technicians to become part of our team wanting a career change into laboratory work. Position SynopsisReporting to the Analytical Laboratory Supervisors, the position requirements include but are not limited to:Ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe & efficient manner and to agreed standard operating instructions.Ensuring that all work complies with National & International standards.Checking & validating all results to ensure that they are within repeatability tolerances.Enter validated results into the reporting system.Maintain the laboratory and its equipment according to company standards.Make recommendations on ways of improving the efficiency & accuracy of sample analysis.A range of analytical tests including Proximate Analysis, Crucible Swell Number, ICP, XRF, Total Sulphur, Calorific Value and Trace analysis.RequirementsFull training will be provided to successful candidates. However, to be considered for this position, you will have:A strong focus on safety, quality and team work.Strong numeracy and literacy skills.Good grasp of computers/technology including spreadsheets.Comfortable with manual handling duties.Ability to work to a flexible roster.Valid Driver's License.Competent within a strong safety culture.Ability to work early mornings and afternoon shifts.Laboratory skills in any industry is preferred but not essential.As part of the selection process, a pre-employment medical exam is required including a drug and alcohol assessment.We are an equal opportunity employer.Apply For Job #J-18808-Ljbffr
