About the Role The Food & Pharmaceutical Division operates a modern laboratory in Melbourne (Scoresby) that is equipped with the latest in analytical technology.
The division is seeking a Laboratory Technician to become part of the Microbiology team.
This team strives to exceed customer expectations by delivering quality results on time and by maintaining strong relationships with their clients.
This role is a permanent entry level position Tuesday through to Saturday with a 10.45am start each day.
The day to day The successful applicants will undertake a range of duties including the following: Processing food, pharmaceutical and water samples for microbiological analysis.
Ensuring samples are analysed within holding times.
Weighing and checking samples Fast paced work with accuracy required Blend food samples Completion of paperwork Ensuring client turnaround times are met.
Ensuring the laboratory operates in an efficient and safe manner.
Daily ad hock tasks The Essentials The successful candidate will possess the following skills and abilities: Minimum of a laboratory certificate or Diploma in Microbiology.
A requirement to handle raw poultry, meat and fish in sample preparation on a daily basis.
Ability to undertake reasonable overtime as required.
Involved in daily housekeeping of the laboratory.
A strong commitment to client service.
Ability to work well in a team orientated environment Good communication and organisational skills.
Dedication to good laboratory practices with regard to quality of results and health and safety.
Previous experience in a high throughput, client-focused environment, preferred.
