In this vital position, you will manage a team of laboratory staff, oversee microbiological and food product testing, and ensure compliance with laboratory regulations and industry standards. You will plan, schedule, and direct laboratory activities to maintain accuracy and efficiency, supporting product quality and safety in our facility. This role is key to ensuring that all testing processes meet regulatory requirements and uphold the high standards of Pace Farm products.What you'll doOversee the overall laboratory operations, including workflow management and staff scheduling.Recruit, train, and mentor laboratory personnel, providing performance feedback and development opportunities.Ensure compliance with laboratory regulations, standards, and safety protocols.Implement quality control measures to maintain the accuracy and reliability of test results.Manage laboratory equipment, reagents, and inventory, ensuring proper maintenance and calibration.Analyse laboratory data, interpret results, and prepare accurate reports for customers and stakeholders.Collaborate with processing and grading teams to ensure effective coordination in product testing.Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency and performance.Manage laboratory risk and safety, including the development of protocols and emergency procedures.Stay updated on advancements in laboratory science, sharing knowledge with the team and pursuing professional development.Oversee laboratory management systems, including audits, system verification, and timely completion of prerequisite programs.About YouAre you an experienced Laboratory Supervisor with a background in microbiology or food science, ready to lead a team and ensure the highest standards in lab operations? You'll bring your strong communication and leadership skills to oversee the daily operations of the lab, from staff scheduling and training to ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. You will also be responsible for maintaining laboratory quality control, managing inventory, and analysing data to produce accurate reports. You'll bring your strong experience in the food or pharmaceutical industry and familiarity with NATA accreditation standards, along with a passion for continuous improvement and team development.
