Application Instructions The position of Leading Hand at Koppens works closely with our Site Supervisors to coordinate, plan and deliver civil construction works across Northern Queensland. They are required to possess relevant people skills to ensure they can effectively lead and instruct a civil construction crew to complete scheduled tasks, utilise resources effectively and meet set production rates.
Position Description Drive daily production through delegation and guiding other workers. Obtain instructions from the site supervisor and carry out sections of work without assistance. Maintain a strong understanding of the project and specifications. Ensure procedures are implemented to eliminate injury to workers, visitors, the general public, as well as to prevent damage to property. Assist in the project risk assessments as well as workplace and task hazard id, risk assessments and controls (JSA/SWMS). Report any hazards or incidents to the Site Supervisor / Project Manager and ensure relevant reports are completed, signed and submitted. Report direct or intentional breaches of the Project Safety Management plan/system to Site Supervisor/Project Manager. Complete site inductions, site diaries, daily pre-starts, permits, toolbox talks, timesheets etc. as directed by the Site Supervisor. Work alongside your Supervisor for program and production requirements and progress. Other duties as requested by Project Managers or Site Supervisors. Contribute to a positive and inclusive team culture. Position Requirements Minimum 2 years' experience in Civil Construction Supervision or relevant experience. Certificate III in Civil Construction or a completed trade within the building industry (preferred). Ability to work away from home in remote locations (when required).
