About the role:
As the SMP Supervisor, you'll be at the heart of driving key construction activities in structural, mechanical, and piping (SMP) for a dynamic Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) project. This role puts you in charge of coordinating high-impact SMP work, ensuring every task meets rigorous quality, safety, and scheduling benchmarks. You'll bring your technical expertise to the forefront, lead a skilled team, and make strategic decisions that keep the project on track and standards uncompromised. It's a role for a hands-on leader ready to make a tangible impact on project success.
Your responsibilities will include: Project Execution: Coordinate with the team to follow detailed work plans and schedules, ensure productivity, and uphold HSSEQ policies. Team Leadership: Supervise and support the SMP team, promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, and high performance. Ensure training and certification requirements are met. Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections, handle QA/QC documentation, resolve non-conformances, and collaborate with client representatives on technical and scheduling queries. Safety Management: Enforce HSE policies, lead toolbox talks and risk assessments, and support incident investigations and preventive measures. Communication: Provide progress updates, maintain daily records, and ensure accurate timekeeping for project reporting and compliance. About You:
The ideal candidate will hold an Australian-recognised Trade Certificate in Welding, Pipefitting, Boilermaking, or Mechanical Fitting, with extensive experience in SMP construction on EPC or EPCM projects within oil & gas, petrochemical, power, or heavy industries. Expertise in handling piping, pressure vessels, structural steel, and equipment in both Brownfield and Greenfield projects is essential. Excellent planning and coordination skills, proven leadership abilities, and solid knowledge of HSE regulations are required, along with the ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documents effectively.
