Job DescriptionKey Accountabilities: Managing the general wellbeing of the dogs by feeding, watering, toileting, bathing and grooming dogs.Ensuring the safe transporting of dogs to puppy raisers, trainers, clients, GDMI's and PDA's.Assisting with the veterinary care of dogs through the management and implementation of health treatment plans.Implementing dog handling techniques and supervising general behaviour of kennelled dogs, including the prevention of noise.Maintaining accurate health records of individual dogs while boarding in the kennels.Ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of all kennel areas and associated equipment as per policy and procedures.Promoting a positive and calm kennel environment to ensure the dogs assigned are quiet and relaxed.Diligently assisting the Veterinarians with TCI (Trans-cervical insemination), natural mating of breeding stock, and blood draws from breeding females.Experience in kennel management, demonstrate good dog handling skills and ability to demonstrate effective leadership and control over dogs.Ability to competently handle dogs of all ages and at various levels of training.Enthusiasm, energy and the ability to demonstrate a high level of initiative, while still being able to work under direction.Hold a drivers licence as recognised in the state of NSW in order to transport dogs.Benefits that Guide Dogs offer: A competitive remuneration package is available commensurate with skills and experience, which includes tax free salary packaging of up to $15,900.EAP - Get support when you need it with Employee Assistance Program counselling sessions.Me Days – Receive two paid days per year to support your health and wellbeing.Paid Parental Leave – take time to bond with your new child with 13 weeks paid leave after qualification period.The option to purchase up to 4 weeks additional leave each year.Employee benefits program and Reward and Recognition program.Support for your professional development including paid study leave and educational assistance.Join an organisation that makes a meaningful and positive impact on our society.Guide Dogs NSW/ACT are proud to be an inclusive workplace that reflects our clients and the broader community and are committed to providing a work environment in which everyone is included, treated fairly and with respect.
