About the Business Unit: H.M. Prison Langi Kal Kal is a minimum-security men's protection prison located 140klm west of Melbourne at Trawalla. The prison's primary purpose is the reintegration and preparedness of offenders for transition to release. H.M Prison Langi Kal Kal is made up of eight separate industries: Farm, Horticulture, Landmate, Kitchen, Metalfab, Poultry, Textiles, Stores, & Warehouse, where there is a strong focus on employment, training, and work readiness.
About the Role: The Justice Officer – Stores & Canteen is part of the Regional Corporate Services team responsible for ensuring best-practice procurement Stores and Shop processes.
Some of your duties will include:
Providing high quality business services related to stores for the prisonAssisting in serving prisoners in the prisoner shop, organising and maintaining special spends, and updating prisoner records on appropriate systemsPreparing stock estimates, obtaining quotes, and organising purchases to maintain stock levels for the Prisoner's Shop and Prison Stores, undertaking regular stock-takes, maintaining accurate records and maintaining the shop in good order.About You: As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
Demonstrated understanding of stores operations (desirable)Demonstrated understanding of occupational health and safety practices (desirable)Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, guidelines and regulations (desirable)Administrative background (desirable)Qualifications/Requirements: Relevant qualification that would assist in fulfilling position duties, traineeships, CertificatesA current Victorian drivers' licence or a minimum P2 driver's licence.How to Apply: Please click the Apply button on this advertisement. The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include reference checks, national police checks and misconduct screening.
