These sites deliver a range of services including custodial services at prisons, Community Correctional Services, Youth Justice Services, Sheriff's Operations, Consumer Affairs, front of house enquiries (including Births, Deaths and Marriages applications) and management of community services (including Victims' Support across the area).
About the Role: The Justice Officer role is to deliver friendly, efficient customer service to clients of the Department of Justice and Regulation, as well as providing consistent, timely and accurate administrative support to regional locations and staff. Please note that Accountabilities differ depending on the work location.
Some of your duties will include:
Providing a range of high quality and efficient front of house administrative services, such as Consumer Affairs or Births, Deaths and Marriages enquiries and applications, and other services relevant to the locationProviding information and assistance to clients, internal and external stakeholders and the public including the collation, review and processing of applicationsProviding reception and telephone responses for the location.The position is based at the Melbourne Justice Service Centre. However, it is an expectation of the role that the successful applicant is willing to support at other locations across either the North Metro (Broadmeadows, Coolaroo, Reservoir, South Morang, Tullamarine, and Heidelberg). A driver's license is therefore preferred but not essential.
About You: As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
Written Communication – The ability to produce a range of standard written documents, providing clear information and using language appropriate to the audience.
Verbal Communication – The ability to assess the audience and provide appropriately-tailored and clear information and explanations to a range of groups in an effective and confident manner, dealing with challenging behaviour firmly but politely.
Computer Skills – The ability to effectively use departmental computer systems for basic word processing, email, appointment scheduling, and internet and intranet functions.
