About the Role This is an exciting opportunity to join MKM Group as a Civil Contracts Administrator & Project Manager, in our Townsville office, QLD 4810.
Answering to and working closely with the Director and Senior Project Manager you will become a crucial member in the decision-making process of your new company.

In this full-time role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and coordination of both residential, commercial, and civil construction projects, ensuring timely and successful project delivery.

What You'll Be Doing Ensure project compliance with technical specifications, applicable legislation, approvals, and standards. Administer site construction and procurement programs. Assist in creating construction programmes and in the design process. Interpret plans. Assist with purchasing, including requests for quotes from suppliers and sub-contractors (RFQs) and raising purchase orders (POs). Capture costs and resource usage for claims as directed. Complete weekly and monthly progress reports. Identify and reduce project expenses to increase profit. Verify subcontractors' claims and variations. Communicate risk controls and actions related to project delivery. Report on project performance, compliance, and defects or non-conformance. Assist with estimating, tendering, and bid management activities. Aid in planning construction methods and procedures, coordinating the supply of labour and materials. Familiarize with contract documents and assist in negotiations with suppliers or subcontractors as necessary. Consult with architects, engineers, and other technical personnel to meet design requirements. Interpret regulations and codes of practice to guide work progress according to construction schedules. Document variations from design drawings or specifications for submission. Create and maintain Quality Assurance documents while monitoring and inspecting installations during construction. Execute all tasks in line with MKM's safe systems of work and company policies. Document and record all project work according to company policies and procedures. What We're Looking For A flexible motivated professional that thrives in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in residential, commercial, civil, or heavy industrial construction sectors. Preferably 2-5 years in a similar contracts administration or project management role within the civil or construction industry. Sound knowledge of contract terms and conditions, along with an understanding of the commercial and legal aspects affecting project delivery. Experience with administering contract obligations, including payment claims, delay notices, EOTs, and variations. Ability to prioritize tasks under pressure, working towards deadlines and targets. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with applications like MS Office, MS Project, and other construction management software. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to build and maintain positive working relationships with project teams, clients, and industry contacts. Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as Cert IV/Diploma of Construction, Construction Management or Project Management, is highly desirable.
