We are open to both full-time permanent and part-time/casual arrangements for the right fit due to the nature of the field work involved. We would also be interested in undergraduates about to finish with a keen interest in the groundwater area looking to develop their career. The role would suit someone who enjoys the outdoors. The role provides the opportunity to be remunerated for longer field days through time in lieu and or remuneration through overtime pay.Key ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for the following:Undertake routine integrated monitoring programs which include groundwater, surface water, soils and air quality sampling while following SLR procedures and industry best practice.Perform field studies that may include hydrogeological site investigations, drilling programs, monitoring bore installations and hydraulic testing.SLR will provide training for UAV (drone) surveys.Prepare quality factual reports based on field and laboratory data collected for or provided by clients.Prepare Health and Safety documentation for the field work.Liaise with site personnel, suppliers and laboratory personnel to support the smooth delivery of the field work.Skills and ExperienceYou will also possess the following skills:Either have completed a short course in hydrogeology or University qualifications (Bachelor Degree or higher) in Science or Engineering, specializing in Hydrogeology or a related field (remuneration packages will vary based on qualifications).Some practical experience in the field of hydrogeology with demonstrated skills in the areas of groundwater monitoring and sampling data analysis, groundwater bore drilling and construction, data analysis and report writing would be advantageous.Working knowledge of QLD groundwater legislation and policies, standards and guidelines, is highly desirable.Theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in groundwater data analysis and interpretation would be advantageous.Excellent communication and reporting skills.Willingness to travel domestically and remotely to undertake monitoring projects – often up to a week at a time.Manual driver's licence and previous 4WD experience and training is highly desirable.Ideally you will have mine site inductions (standard 11) or other.Australian citizenship/working rights are essential.Our BenefitsWe are proud of our unique culture where we work together to collaborate on projects to get the best possible outcome for our clients.
