The opportunity As CODA Criminal Law's new Junior Solicitor, you'll be an integral part of a small but highly successful team who are kicking goals for our clients across all areas of criminal law.
This full-time, flexible role offers a rare opportunity to work with the mentorship of our Partners and Senior Associate across a wide range of criminal matters. Joining a new and growing firm means you will grow with it, there are many opportunities to step into work you may not get the chance to experience at other firms.

About you This is an excellent opportunity for a recently graduated or junior criminal lawyer. Ideally, you will have recently graduated or have 1-2 years PAE in criminal law.
You would be acting for a range of defendants and have independent carriage of a large number of criminal files, so you'll need to be a go-getter who genuinely wants to make a difference to people's lives.

You are an independent thinker who has the confidence to contribute your opinion. You are a hard worker and have a great work ethic, with ambitions and a desire for genuine career pathways. Your main responsibilities will include: Attending and representing clients in court in the ACT and surrounding regions; Attending client conferences and obtaining instructions; Preparing representations and negotiating with DPP and the Australian Federal Police; Preparing correspondence including written advice and detailed briefs to counsel; Working with some of Australia's best criminal barristers.
