The opportunity Bupa Optical have an opening for a Junior Buyer to join our team to provide key operational, administrative and analytical support to the Product Manager.
This role will support the execution of buying strategies and product assortment management for our Optical products.
With a passion for data-driven decision making, you will analyse and share sales insights, identifying opportunities and potential risks for the Bupa Optical and Hearing business.
Working closely with the Product Manager, the Junior Buyer will assist in supplier relationship and service level contract management.
This position is offered as permanent, full-time and may be based from Bupa's, Melbourne offices with flexible hybrid work arrangements available.
Key responsibilities: Data Analysis and Insights - Track and analyse competitor activity to inform product selection.
Collaborate with the Product Manager to prepare buy proposals, prepare routine reports which analyse sales and inventory performance.
Manage the collection of customer and store team feedback and utilisation of insights to inform product ranges.
Product Management Support - Assist with the development of product category strategies and sales plans to enhance brand positioning and maximise performance.
Work closely with the Product Manager in the selection and purchasing of product ranges and quantities, utilising sales data.
Collaborate with the e-commerce team to ensure product range is effectively represented with current inventory and strategies.
Partner with the Product Manager in the creation of planograms and merchandising guides, creating a consistent customer experience across the store network.
Supplier Relationship Management - Support the Product Manager in the development and maintenance of supplier relationships by providing data insights to support the management of service levels and pricing structures.

What do I need?
We anticipate the Junior Buyer will be bring 2-4 years retail fashion buying experience.
Your collaborative approach will see you establish positive relationships as a trusted and respected Junior Buyer with team members, stakeholders and suppliers to achieve successful business outcomes.
In addition, you'll bring to the role: Tertiary education in retail buying, merchandise planning and/or general business is desirable.
Demonstrated understanding of retail fundamentals, including marketing, supply chains, operations and merchandising.
Advanced skills in the MS Office suite, in particular Excel and Power BI with deep experience in the utilisation of data to inform decisions and deliver successful business results.
