Junior Accounts Officer

Civil Construction company seeking a Junior Accounts Officer to become a key part in shaping the future of our business alongside an experienced team. You will be based in our South Brisbane Head Office.
About the role: Reporting to the Senior Accounts Officer, the Junior Accounts Officer is responsible for:
Accounts Payable: Accurately and promptly process invoices while maintaining data integrity and precision in payment records.Execute payment runs to ensure timely vendor payments and reconcile vendor statements to rectify any discrepancies. Coordinate the setup of new vendors in the accounting system and continuously monitor vendor information. Evaluate supplier terms to ensure optimal pricing and commercial payment terms.Credit card receipt reconciliations and coding.Monitoring and accurately managing Purchase Orders.Working with the project team to support cost reporting.Communicating effectively with suppliers and other departments to resolve any issues or questions.Working with wider finance team to coordinate month end reporting and accuracy for accounts.Accounts Receivable: Setting up new customer accounts including review of credit worthiness.Generate and issue invoices accurately and in a timely mannerMonitor customer accounts for overdue payments and follow up on outstanding invoicesCollaborate with the project teams to resolve billing discrepancies and address customer inquiriesReconcile customer accounts and ensure accuracy in financial recordsPrepare regular reports on accounts receivable statusEssential Skills and Experience: Stay updated on industry best practices and changes in accounting regulationsProven experience with AR or AP or similar role - Highly DesirableExcellent attention to detail and accuracyExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teamsWhat's on offer: Competitive salary based on the successful candidate's experienceA permanent position with a growing civil construction companyCareer progressionPaid day off on your Birthday If you are interested in the position, please apply today to be contacted.
