About the Team Our national Real Estate group provides legal services to many of Australia's leading institutions, property owners, developers and tenants within each distinct state-based legislative environment. We act for the real estate industry's key players, providing our clients with advice on their most innovative transactions and projects. We offer our clients comprehensive experience in acquisition, development, financing, leasing and sale of commercial, industrial, residential and retail properties.
About the Role An exciting opportunity exists for an Associate to join our Real Estate team in our Melbourne office. This role will work closely with two of our key clients on highly complex, strategic development work. It is a significant career opportunity for the right person, providing the opportunity to stretch yourself with challenging, dynamic and complex legal work.
Our property team advises on large-scale and complex real estate transactions. As an Associate, you will be responsible for:
Drafting and reviewing contracts for sale, leases and agreements for lease; Reviewing titles; Undertaking due diligence reviews and preparing due diligence reports; Attending settlements; Assisting with negotiations; Providing strategic legal project management advice on complex real estate developments. You will work closely with partners on complex matters whilst benefiting from structured training and mentoring.
About You You obviously have plenty of technical aptitude and previous relevant experience, but there is much more to you. You:
Deliver legal advice with a commercial and client focused outlook, accompanied by a broad understanding of and interest in real estate market trends; Have a proven track record of excellent problem-solving skills, and can help clients find a way to progress complex transactions whilst appropriately addressing risk; Work well under pressure, meet deadlines and excel working in a team; Have strong communication and stakeholder management skills that enable you to address all stakeholder requirements in a way that fosters and builds productive working relationships; Take a collaborative, positive and energetic approach to everything you do and have a proven track record of building colleague, client and real estate industry relationships; Have a team building outlook; Have gained 3-6 years' real estate and capital transactions experience in a private practice environment.
