Role This role requires an experienced Java developer with a minimum 3 years proven commercial experience in developing and implementing commercial applications in a J2EE environment.
You will be working within an engineering team consisting of other Java, frontend, and QA engineers along with business analysts to collaboratively deliver impactful solutions for both internal stakeholders and Booktopia's customers.
This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, located at our office and state of the art warehouse in South Strathfield with some flexibility to WFH. Free parking available onsite.
Responsibilities Work with business stakeholders / business analysts to understand business requirementsWork with the engineering team to design, develop & test features and enhancements to the Booktopia systems following Agile methodology and processesTroubleshooting, maintenance & support of existing systemsCreation & maintenance of technical documentationSkills & experience The ideal candidate will have the following essential skills and experience at a minimum:
Software Engineering or Computer Science equivalent degreeStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong problem solving skills, applying technical knowledge to solve complex engineering problemsMinimum 3 years enterprise agile software development experience with Java (1.8+)Strong knowledge and experience with relational DBs (MySQL) and related technologies (JDBC, Hibernate)General awareness of software architecture design patternsUnit test frameworksAny experience with the following are highly desirable:
