The position is part time (FTE 0.67) and will commence Term One 2025. Furthermore, the applicant will have a dynamic and flexible approach to engaging students' interests and energies and will be able to think outside the square when working with students. They will also have a willingness to engage in aspects of Alia outside regular classes, including Arts Nights and a proportion of other activities such as excursions, camps, homeroom, and information sessions. Shortlisted applicants will each be invited to visit the school and assist in a class and/or homeroom before making a firm commitment to the school.

The successful applicant will be required to:
have a high level of understanding of the Japanese language. teach Year 7-12 Japanese, including VCE Japanese Unit 1/2. develop the Japanese coursework. have extensive experience teaching secondary school Japanese. have experience teaching in an alternative style school. hold a current VIT registration. organise tours of Japan for small groups of students. coordinate annual visits of Japanese school groups to Alia College. preferably have spent time living in Japan for an extended period.
