ABOUT THE ROLE The Head of Governance, Risk and Compliance is responsible for the comprehensive development, management, and implementation of Jacana Energy's enterprise approach to governance, risk management, compliance management, and regulation. This role provides assurance to Jacana Energy's Audit and Risk Committee through the development and implementation of Jacana Energy's internal audit program. This role works closely with the executive leadership team, providing advice and support on the achievement of strategic objectives. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Develop, implement and manage the Risk Management Framework for Jacana Energy, ensuring comprehensive risk identification, mitigation, controls, assurance testing and provision of guidance and risk training to Jacana Energy personnel. Advise stakeholders, including the Board, Chief Executive Officer and the Executive Leadership Team on key developments in relation to the subject areas comprised within the team, as well as quality and continuous improvement activities and initiatives. Facilitate internal risk workshops and the annual Strategic Risk Workshop with the Board and Executive Leadership Team. Establish, implement and manage Jacana Energy's internal audit program and monitor and assess the need to conduct additional audits including the engagement of external specialist service providers as required. Review prepared audit reports and provide expert advice on findings and recommendations. Work with executive management to develop action plans to address audit findings. Manage, monitor and report on management action items arising from internal audit key findings and recommendations. Develop, implement and manage policies, procedures and processes to ensure compliance with Jacana Energy's legal and regulatory obligations, including managing the Compliance Function. Drive quality improvement activities, promote a culture of continuous quality improvement and assist management to ensure development of continuous quality improvement plans. Provide regulatory analysis and advice to key stakeholders, including leading the development of high-quality and timely regulatory submissions and representing Jacana Energy in discussions with regulatory authorities and key external stakeholders. Oversee Jacana Energy's insurance portfolio, including facilitating policy renewals with the insurance broker. Comply with the Code of Conduct and all operational policies, procedures, governance frameworks and guidelines in place across the organisation. SELECTION CRITERIA The ideal candidate must have: Proven experience and working knowledge of contemporary risk management, control and assurance frameworks. Proven experience in managing internal audit programs and maintaining and managing management action registers. Demonstrated leadership and people management with the ability to lead multi-disciplinary groups with the ability to motivate, engage and develop high performing teams. High level written and oral communication skills, with a proven ability to develop policy documentation and procedures. High level interpersonal skills with persuasive, influential and negotiation abilities and a track record of building effective stakeholder relationships. Well-developed presentation and facilitation skills and ability to work across all levels of an organisation. Self-motivation, initiative, commercial and customer service acumen, strong organisation and analytical skills and proven capacity to deliver results. A strong ability to drive and influence change and foster a culture of risk awareness. You may also have: Relevant experience in regulated utility or commercial environment, or Government owned Corporation. Relevant tertiary or post graduate qualifications in risk management, internal audit or other relevant discipline.
